Time Table:

Coordination of Project:
Under the guidance of the University Librarian a Task Force Team will be created to plan, implement, seek staff input, and communicate status of the project. Members from the Environmental Committee as well as representatives from each major area (Access Services, Technical Services, Systems Services, Collection Services, Public Services, Instructional Services, Graphics Services, and Administrative Services) will serve on the Task Force.

Vision of Project:
Plans for this renovation project will primarily be designed around the needs of our student patrons, while realistically acknowledging that during the renovation the Library cannot continue to provide all services and access to all materials.

The renovation plans will attempt to provide the highest level of services we can reasonably sustain during this extensive renovation, while creating the least amount of stress for our student patrons and our library staff.

Task Force Members / Areas of Responsibility:
Linda Golian-Lui, Chair and Overall Coordinator
Thora Abarca, Environmental Committee Representative and Instructional Services
Helen Rogers, Collection Services
Avis Nomura, Technical Services
Neal Hatayama / Stephen Kaheiki, Access Services
Richard Morris, Systems Services
Susan Maesato, Public Services and Hawaiian / Archive Collections
Graphic Services, as needed, Susan Yugawa
Administrative Services, including minute taking, Lori Hu
Staff Stress Monitors, Kristin Kong-Carvalho / Cynthia Reis
Web Notices and Coordinating Special Tasks, Amy Saxton

Roles:
Linda as Chair will assume the responsibility for the planning and implementation with strong input, advice and assistance from the various Task Force Members. She will be responsible for the final decision-making.

Task Force Members will be responsible for sharing comments on how proposed tasks, timelines, and policies will affect individual units and be available for constructive advise and assistance during the renovation preparation phase and during the renovation project.

Meetings
Every attempt will be made to limit meetings to two per month, with each meeting not exceeding one hour in length. It is expected that not all Task Force Members attend every meeting. It is expected that meetings that address specific work units / areas will invite staff from those areas.

Communications
Information about the progress of the renovation and decisions made by Task Force members will be posted on the Mookini Library Renovation Blog. Training on how to subscribe to the blog will be provided by Amy Saxton in January 2006.
